Educational Action 2017


In 2014 Mostra Educativa and Acción Cultural (Educational Mostra and Cultural Action) is born, a section focused in bringing Mostra closer to different audiences, working towards the inclusion of the mediterranean cultures. Luminaria drives and develops this part of Mostra through diverse activities.

For the 2017 edition, we count again with the support of IVC to offer activities for schools, families and children adequated to the needs and interests of each group.

thanks to the collaboration of MuVIM, we’ll be able one more year to use its teaching classroom to organize the workshops.

Family Mostra
For families. during these activities we’ll work in a fun a creative way different aspects of cinema, such as frames, scenes or decoration. To enjoy cinema in a different way, all together!

Discover cinema as a family
We’ll discover the cinema from the Mediterranean and we’ll have fun watching, playing and creating.
Saturday 7th, Sunday 8th, Monday 9th and Saturday 14th of October at 12:00.

Mostra for children
For children from 5 years old.

Cinema for everybody
We’ll concentrate on specific aspects of the audiovisual to do a workshop in which the children discover how cinema is made by playing, experimenting and creating.

Teatrine
On this activity we’ll display some shows previous to the invention of cinema and we’ll lay out a creative activity so that the participants, both adulys and children, build their own toys and create their own stories.

Entrance will be free until the capacity of MuVIM’s teaching classroom is complete (Guillem de Castro street nº8)

TEAM

Berta Durán

She studied architecture and staging design, and she’s specialized in artistic education, area in which she is currently developing her doctoral thesis. She has worked in both formal and not formal educational contexts from Secondary school to university, and has also participated in different educative projects as an arts specialist.
As a cultural mediator she has worked at the Memory Museum of Andalucia, in Granada, and in Valencia at the MuVIM and, with Ana, at La Nau and other cultural spaces of the University.

 

Ana Torres

She is an Art Historian specialized in museums and education, she is currently completing her formation in Pedagogy. She has a strong orientation towards the internet use and new technologies applied to education, through a postgraduate in Interactive Applications Development, a few blogs, participation in different podcasts about videogames and a youtube channel about videogames and education. Another of her great passions is cinema, which took her to collaborate in developing the educational guides of IVAC’s «Menuda filmo» cicle. As a cultural mediator she has mainly developed her her teaching actuvuty at La Nau and other UV’s cultural spaces.

They both were co-founder partners of AVALEM (Valencian Association of Teachers in Museums and Heritage) in 2012, and are nowadays part of its governing body. They have experience in facilitation of artistic-creative projects with non-specialized people in both formal and not formal educational contexts.

Since the beginning, Luminaria developes activities in cultural festivals like Mostra Viva del Mediterrani where it organizes the section  Mostra Educativa i Acció Cultural, Mostra Internacional de Cinema Educatiu o Valencia Negra, in exhibitions like Inclu.Si.Ves at CC La Nau and at museums like the Computer Science Museum. Currently, Luminaria participates in the offer of Culturarts-IVAC activities for schools and makes the teaching guides for the children’s cicle of Menuda Filmo. It also develops a workshop programme arround three subjects; «art and history», «architecture and design» and «cinema and dramatic art» which take place at schools and cultural leisure centers.

For projects of magnitude, Luminaria has a team of collaborators of different expertise in the fields of art and education.
